The company, which was specialized in cast iron and aluminum moulding in the first years, then 1960‘s it decided to specialize in aluminum moulding with the manufacturing of beam covers and it succeeded in this field. Entering into the textile spare parts business by manufactoring beams covers, the company served to leading textile companies in Turkey such as Mensucat Santra, Bozkurt, Aktif, Akın Tekstile, Bahariye Mensucat, Kartaltepe Mensucat, Aksu Altuna Textile and many others .

The company also supplied beam covers for beam manufacturer compaines in for over a period of ten years.

Due to the negative situation for the textile industry the company ended providing beam covers for those beam manufacturer companies and it started beam manufactoring under its own brand very seriously and in a determined manner as of te beggining of 2003

TANKA MAKINE, produces beams that can be used at the looms of the world’s leading weaving machine and warping machinery manufactures with the experience acquired for many years.

TANKA MAKINE, is able to produce standard sizes for rapiers, air jets, water jets, shuttles, narrow fabric looms, weaving machines for velvet, weaving machines for carpets and rugs, as well as offering to produce at any requested size.

In line with the ISO standards TANKA MAKINE Beams are divided into four categories. The reason to this ategorization is different types of yarns and their tensile strengths on beams.

TANKA MAKINE, has proved to be one of the world’s leading producers of hollow-ribbed beams that are known to be resistant to tensile strengths.

Main Class Application RecommendedLimit Values
k, kN/ mm
Yarnsfrom natual fibers except for silk , spun yarns from re-generatedcellulosic fibers, mixed yarns from natural
and man-made fibers having proportion of mixture up to 67/33
20 < k < 50
Filament yarns from re-generatedcellulosic fibers
(e.g. viscose, acetate, etc.)
as well as textile glass yarns and silk yarns
50 < k < 125
Man-made filament yarns (e.g.polyamide, polyacrylonitrile,
polyoleflin, etc.) which are relaxed
after the thread forming spinning operation
125 < k < 200
Q4Extra Strong
Filament yarns as in quality class 3, but unrelaxed200 < k <
  * The table below shows the four main categories and the types of yarns that correspond to these categories
 Loading P ( kN ) k = P = 4 E h³
Main Class =
 Deflection f ( mm) f =c d²
"E” is themodulus of elasticiy of the material used fr the bam flnge
"h” is the thicknes of the flang near thebarrel
"c” is a correlation factor dependent on the ratio of outher barrel diameter to outher flange diameter
"d” is the outer flange diameter

Flanges are made of forged or cast aluminium alloy. (Aluminium is a very strong lightweight material, which is easy tohandle safely. Impervious to corrosion, it provides clean, polished surfaces, which, with proper maintenance, will provide years of trouble-free service) Models designed for maximum rigidity and durability are produced through casting processes that are carried out with expertise and profession.

The flanges that are at raw state after casting are turned on a lathe with a lot of attention and tested for safety before they are assemsled to the barrels.

Flanges have two types. As shown in Table I, for the yarns that are lested in the first and the second section ribbed flanges and for the yarns that are listed in the third and fourth sections hallow-ribbed flanges are used. Ribbed flanges are used for yarns that do not demand much tensile strength. The distances between ribs, the number of ribs and the rib sizes are determined based on the diameters of the flanges.

Hollow-ribbed flanges demand a lot of expertise and profession in casting. Resistance is very important when it comes to the production of yarns that cause high tensile strength. Quality is also very essential in the production of hallow-ribbed flanges to ensure the safety of the workers and the safety of the materials processed on those flanges. Tests about tensile strength become very important at this point and measure the resistance of the flanges.

The resistances of the barrels are as important as the resistances of the flanges. Structure wise the barrels and the flanges have lo be competent with each other.

TANKA MAKINE, with years of experience produces barrels and flanges in line with standards and provides the best service to its customers in the selection of these. The diameters of the barrels and the wall thickness of the barrels arc very important in selection.

Barrels made of steel barrels are coated with electrolytic galvanizing.

The clamping rings at the joining points of langes and barrels are also very important. The clamping rings are made of die-forged casting or alluminium upon request. Hence it does not leave any question of resistance and durability at the joining points.
